UN: more intense crackdown on Libya

Reports from Libya show thousands of people may be killed or injured in the crackdown against the action of the rampant anti-Gaddafi, said the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay.

Over the past week, fighting between troops and soldiers loyal antipemeirntah the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, who has ruled for 42 years.

Libyan food supply chain is now threatened a mess, the UN food agency said.

In the vicinity of the capital, Tripoli, an elite brigade commanded by Gaddafi's son, Khamis, is believed to strengthen its defenses.

Britain and France tried to do an arms embargo against Libya and the war crimes investigation.

Libyan state television said the government will give cash 500 dinars, or about Rp 4 million to cover rising food prices, while some public sector workers will receive 150% pay rise.

However, many regions of the country is now in the hands of anti-government forces.
